Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist, and is a competitor at the UFC flyweight division. She is the older sister of the fellow UFC fighter and ex- UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko's fight sport career started out as a Muay Thai competitor. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title and later defeated Suzane Mller with a majority vote. Antonina followed it up and won a silver medal in 2007, a bronze in 2008, and then a gold in 2011, and was the year-end 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thailand World Champion. Antonia began her professional life in 2003, and she won in the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012 and the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016 and the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships in the year 2016. Antonina's most recent fight took place against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas at Phoenix Fighting Championship. It was an unanimous decision to win. Antonina Shevchenko made the professional MMA record in 2002 when she fought at the KFK cup in Kyrgystan against Anara Bayanova. She took the win through TKO after the first round. She then was able to take home her next two fights at the WXF X-Impact World Championships, 2003. This gave her a 3-0 MMA record. Shevchenko stopped for a few minutes from MMA and focused on her boxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 with Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko won Anissa Haddaoui's fight in a unified decision. She then beat Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4, by the same decision. She resigned from the organization and started Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko faced Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina Shevchenko defeated Nievera thanks to her impressive strike power when she clinched by striking her with her knees. In the aftermath of this win Antonina was able to sign a UFC contract. Antonina Shevchenko made her UFC debut at TUF Heavy Hitters Finale against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko fell to Roxanne Modafferi in a split decision in her first fight. Antonina was able to bounce back from the loss with a win over Lucie Pudilova at UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler with a back-naked choke. The result earned her the fight-ofthe-night prize. Shevchenko was 1-2 over her next 3 fights. She defeated Ariane Lipski but fell to Katlyn Chokagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina has been defeated recently by Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos -Walker.
